Mentoring 'will really add to your CV'
19 Mar 2012
People experienced in the world of business should sign up for mentoring schemes in order to add extra sparkle to their CVs when it comes to applying for new jobs.
This is according to Cherie Blair, who was speaking at a conference for International Women's Day, HR Magazine reports.
She explained that sharing expertise with those less experienced will help the economy as well as both individuals.
"Mentoring can be the spark that reignites your own interest in your business and your careers ... People who are mentors will say it's made a huge difference to them," Ms Blair commented.
This voluntary work may prove to be effective for IT candidates competing for jobs with other individuals who have similar qualifications.
It could also be more effective than permanent cosmetic surgery, which Stephen Handisides from MyFaceMyBody.com claimed some jobseekers are trying in an attempt to get the edge in interviews.
