99p Stores announce development in Cleveland

A national discount retail chain is set to open its 178th store in the North East of England, thereby creating a host of sales jobs.

99p Stores will open its latest £250,000 branch in Cleveland next month with 35 new jobs set to be created as a result. That's not the last the North East will hear of the shop either.

The company, which has doubled in size over the last three years, plans to erect more stores over the coming years which could see more jobs created.

99p Stores boss Hussein Lalani told N E Business: "We are delighted to be opening up in Middlesbrough and at the flagship Cleveland Centre which is at the heart of the town centre.

"We know from intensive research that Middlesbrough and Teesside shoppers love value as much as anywhere in the UK."

Stores bosses are working with Jobcentre Plus to fill the shop positions.
