E-learning, a popular tactic used by companies to upskill those with jobs in IT and other roles, will increasingly enjoy the benefits afforded to it by new technologies.
That's according to Dr David Guralnick, president of the International E-Learning Association (IELA), who believes that increasingly, technologies such as smartphones and tablets will be more involved with the practice.
Other technologies such as artificially-intelligent teaching and virtual reality are also in the offing for e-learners according to Dr Guralnick with the former actually having been around for some time.
Dr Guralnick said: "E-learning should see the benefits of new technologies."
"I do expect we'll continue to see greater and greater use of mobile devices, but a bit more down the line, we have some exciting and useful technologies to look forward to."
Dr Guralnick is also the president of Kaleidoscope Learning, a company which provides custom e-learning as well as strategic consulting.
