Consultancy
Providing skilled execution of value-based initiatives for Clients with in-house recruitment solutions, particularly relevant in situations where an organisation is looking to re-introduce (in-source) recruitment and resource management functions.
- Audit and Solution design - using Client-specific data we work together to develop a business case to support the Client’s decision-making process, helping to determine the design relevant to the Client.
- Supply Chain Management - to develop and maintain a best-in-class supply chain for the recruitment of both permanent personnel and contingent workers (contractors, project consultants, freelance operatives, interim managers/executives, etc). We can support the key objectives of the Client’s resource planning process with a dynamic supply chain that meets the need to perform and be competitive. This can include:
- Direct recruitment channels, the development of the Client’s own (low cost) direct recruitment capability
- 3rd party channels, a methodical process to select the best 3rd party channels (recruitment companies) to support your objectives
- Benchmarked terms and conditions of business, helping you to secure through industry benchmarking the best terms and conditions of business

Market Pay Rate Management - The contractor’s pay rate represents by far the largest element of cost at around 85%. Managing this cost competitively is therefore critical to performance (in terms of access to the right quality of candidate) and to cost. Establishing a quality rate card detailing benchmarked market rates for the contract resources used by the Client is therefore important in that it provides:
- an opportunity to review the rates of existing contractors
- an informed approach to all future hiring decisions
Lorien has extensive experience in doing this. Lorien Customer Solutions also has a successful rate management methodology, which is used to great effect to reduce the cost of medium to long-term contractors in situations where their pay may be at variance to current market rates. This methodology positively engages the hiring manager / end user community in the process and focuses on both the value of the assignment and the value of each contractor to the organisation.
- Risk Assessment & Management - This offering provides specific experience to the discovery and management of both legal and commercial risk in the Client’s contingent workforce. Depending on the Client’s situation, we review all contractual and actual relationships between the worker and the organisation and determine a clear view of any legal or commercial risks. Having identified the value and probability of risk, we propose and can help implement strategies to eliminate or manage these risks.
- Recruitment & Vendor Management Systems - Independent applications capable of managing the ‘end-to-end’ recruitment process are becoming more widespread. Their value is in the efficient way they enable information to quickly flow and management information to be easily analysed. Lorien is able to offer various solutions in this area which are internet based and require little or no capital investment, with costs being covered on a usage basis or through the development of your 3rd party channels.
